These links use patterns that search engine crawlers cannot or should not follow:

JavaScript Pseudo-Protocol Links

• javascript:void(0) link
• javascript:alert() link
• javascript:; link

Empty and Hash-Only Links

• Empty href link
• Hash-only link
• Hash with space link

Links Without Href

• Anchor tag with no href attribute at all

OnClick-Dependent Links

• Link relying on onclick for navigation

All of these patterns are problematic for SEO because crawlers cannot follow JavaScript-based navigation. Important pages linked only through these patterns will not receive any link equity and may not be discovered at all.
